SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Dr. King Elementary School plans to use a $2 million grant to move toward a year-round schedule, Syracuse district officials said. Dr. King, a "struggling school" on the South Side of Syracuse, will rethink its schedule, expand its prekindergarten program and require additional teacher training under a plan to turn around the school.
